DISCLAIMER
Dermaplaning may NOT be performed on individuals who have active acne. Active acne is not just a few bumps. Active acne includes inflamed and irritated breakouts. Dermaplaning will agitate acneic skin and will spread unwated bacteria. If you are an acne client, please book a First Time Glow and complete the First Time Glow Intake Form.
Dermaplaning may NOT be performed on individuals with severe psoriasis, eczema, or individuals with open lesions.
Dermaplaning may be performed on pregnant women.
Please understand that following a Dermaplaning Glow Facial Treatment, you may experience purging. Purging occurs when deep exfoliation treatments have been performed. During facials, impurities have been brought to the surface. Purging can occur in a few different ways once a DG has been performed. Your skin may be feel a little drier than usual, and you may experience small tiny bumps. These minor blemishes will minimize the days following your facial. Allow up to seven days. Remember, everyone’s skin is different and reacts in different ways. It is important to stay hydrated by drinking water, and keeping your skin moisturized.
It is important to avoid direct sunlight, and to always wear SPF.
I recommend waiting twelve to twenty four hours before applying makeup. It is important to allow your skin to breathe following your facial. Makeup brushes should be cleansed, washed, and disinfected to avoid spreading bacteria.
Exfoliation with scrubs or masks should be avoided 3-5 days following your facial. Over exfoliation can lead to sensitized skin and can even encourage breakouts.
Pillowcases should be changed the day of your facial, and should be changed weekly.
